About Me

Hi there! I am Terje Solum, author of the Saga of the Samurai books. For more than 20 years I have done research on the medieval history of Japan.
I have studied Japanese language at the University of Bergen (Norway), and for a short while at a language institute  in Okazaki, Japan. Also done history and english at Bô college in Norway. During my passionate run for old Japan I have built up a huge library – soon close to 6000 books, all of them in Japanese – so I am also apt in the Japanese language. I have also taken thousands of photos on my many travels to Japan, so if any one of you would like to hire any of these images or illustrations (from old Japanese books) – then send me a note, and I will see if I can help.
